Hey, I just purchased my Envy 14 tonight and had a few plans for the future. For one thing I will be buying a SSD in a year or two once the price/GB decreases. But that is easy to install, I was also planning on upgrading the GPU in a year or two once it is unable to play new games a decent settings. I am getting the highest i5-580 and know it has plenty of power and the GPU will most likely become a bottleneck first for when newer games come out. I wanted to know how hard this would be to upgrade the GPU, as the layout of these new HP laptops seem much more friendlier to DIY upgrades. Thanks sorry its been a few years since I have built a computer :D

The Envy 14's GPU is soldered to the mainboard. You can't change it.

All HP Envy's comes with the GPU soldered with the System Board. It is not possible to change the GPU as what Inferno has said.

95% of all laptops has fixed GPU's via soldering on the System Board. System with MXM Slots can have their graphics card changed, but even within that 5%, only 2% of them can have some viable form of upgradability.
