    Hi:

    May you help?

    I have a HP 6710b (p/n= GJ679LA#ABM) with a 1280x800 lcd.
I would like to know if I can upgrade my lcd resolution to 1680x1050 (of course, I am talking about buying another lcd :D here). I know both resolutions have a 1.60 aspect ratio. And also that this model was offered with 1680x1050 displays.

I am using Vista Bussiness and XP Professional (32bits). The video hardware installed in my laptop is: Mobile Intel(R) GM965 Express Chipset.

    May you advice?

Yes, it's possible. As long as the 1680x1050 panel is compatible. Best to get the one that was sold with the unit.

You can get the part number from the service manual which you can find on HP's website.

    Hi 2.0:

    I really appreciate your comments.

I would buy the one which is listed in HP PartSurfer:
443813-001 =15.4-inch TFT WSXGA+ LCD display panel assembly - For models 6710b and 6715b without WWAN

However I don't know if will get some kind of driver errors or similar because of the changed display.... What do you think? Any suggestions..???

    Thanx for your help..

No, you wouldn't get any driver error. It would simply recognize the new resolution and display accordingly. Much like if you used an external display.

BTW, if you search ebay with the part number, you can find the display cheaper from reputable sellers.
