Well, I've got a HP ze4610us, and when I was looking at the ram currently installed in my system I noticed cover with 2 screws on the bottom identical to the cover for the ram. Curious, I pulled off the other cover and underneath I found a slot that looks suspiciously like it's intended to accept a video card memory module.
Anyone know what else this slot might be for? If it is I'd like to get the proper module for it and give this poor little radeon igp 320m it's own dedicated ram instead of sharing system ram.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Jason

I don't know what that slot would be for, perhaps a wireless card. However; I do know that you can not upgrade the video memory or give the IGP its own discrete memory to use

ewitte, may be right about future upgrades or slat could be right about the wireless slot. Either way there currently is not a way to upgrade the video card. The only way yo upgrade is to get a new laptop, and I'm not sure you can call that an upgrade [

Hopefully one day (soon) there will be a standard way to upgrade graphics cards in ALL laptops--regardless of manufacturer of either graphics card or laptop. Wouldn't that be sweet?

Thats interesting, I wasn't aware of that. . .do you have a link perhaps? If that is the case, you could put a Geforce FX 5200 in there for people with slow integrated graphics. Or are there limitations with what you can place in this PCI slot. I'm interested in this. (I already have a good graphics card, but many people do not)
