Ok, so I just recently upgraded vista home premium to ultimate on my dv5t. The next time I used it after the upgrade, the cd drive wasn't working and neither was the webcam. I checked the device manager and as far as the cd drive goes, it said there was an error with the driver (code 39) but I cannot find a copy of the driver to replace the possibly corrupted one. The device is the TSSTcorp-CDDVDW TS-L633a. And concerning the webcam, device manager says its fine and working but when I try to use it with any webcam related program, they say they can't use it. Help please.

First, concerning the DVD drive. Try updating the drivers by using the "Browse my computer for driver software" and tell the program to look in c:\windows\system32 (and make sure Include subfolders is checked). If you still have a problem with the drivers after doing the above follow the instructions included in this Microsoft Document about deleting the Upper and Lower filters.

The driver the notebook in my sig uses for the webcam is as follows:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\usbvideo.sys
I would expect your notebook to use the same driver. Does your webcam work within QuickPlay or Cyberlink YouCam?
