Just ordered my t7500 dual core processor for my 400.00 lappy. lol. Got a good deal on the chip, a closeout price of 175.00 here is a link to the specs

I think it will do nicely, I have already downgraded it to XP and upgraded to 2gb of ram. I wasn't going to upgrade this system at all. But I just sold my desktop and decided this will be my main computer. I dont game or do anything too crazy with it. Its used mainly for internet access and computing, not for multimedia. Anyone have any tips on the install? Im sure there are tutorials around for taking apart the case and what not. Should I put vista back on? Should I go with a 64 bit operating system?

Also I'm interested in finding a replacement harddrive that might be bigger and faster (more cache and rpm) If anyone has any info on that please share. I might just document the install myself. I herniated a disc in my back and am unable to work for a while (im an automotive technician) so I really have nothing better to do.

I think its great when people laugh and scoff at my "little" 400 dollar computer. If they only knew

out of stock. But man what a deal! 7200 rpm 3gb/s and 16mb cache and 320gb! wow all for under 90.00! what a shame I didn't find that earlier. That would make this one heck of a "sleeper" computer. The only thing holding this lappy back is the on board graphics, but there actually not too bad, more than enough for me. I'll show some cool pics of the install when I get the chip

awesome! There's actually lots of deals like that on the slickdeals forums. There's been tons of seagate 320gbs going for $70-100.
