    hello guys,
ive been considering upgrading my current processor p7350 to about the highest specd CPU i can get with the same socket and TDP and voltage levels.

I think my only other concern should be whether the bios recognizes the CPU. If im not mistaken so long as there is a dv5 model released with a specific cpu then i can update my bios to support that cpu aswell.

The latest cpus that the dv5 were sold with (i think) was the p8700.
But ive read online someone upgrading to a P9500 with no problems, how is that possible? I couldnt find a dv5 model released with that processor

i dont think upgrading the cpu is a hassle as long as they have the same socket, just upgrade to the latest bios to be sure (f.20?), i upgraded my p7350 to a p8700 on bios f16 no problems, Took it apart swapped cpus and put it back together. Just be sure to have some rubbing alcohol to clean off the old thermal compound and make sure to get some decent thermal compound such as AS5 or ICD7

if u have any questions feel free to pm me as i did this upgrade a few weeks ago
