I currently have a pair of standard 250GB drives in my HDX 18t and would like to upgrade at least one of these to an SSD, probably 120-160GB will be sufficient.

What all is involved in upgrading to an SSD and can they be mixed?

Is there fairly simple way to copy what is on my current drive to the SSD drive without having to start from scratch loading the OS and all of my programs and files?

I do have an external hard drive available if needed and can be used in some way to make the upgrade. I also have Acronis True Image 11 backup software.

Also, what are the recommended SSD's to consider and ones to stay away from?

    Many thanks!

As far as I know, all you have to do is take out the HDD that's in bay 1, mount the SSD into the bracket and plug it in, and go ahead and install an OS, or use the recovery DVD's you got to reinstall the OS. I'm not too sure on how well the imaging software would work copying from HDD to SSD, but as long as the image isn't bigger than the SSD, there shouldn't be any other issues, either.
