I would like to know which all parts can be upgraded. I only know hard disk and ram could be upgraded.
Also please tell me is the graphic card (like geforce) in hp laptops is inbuilt on the motherboard or is it a external part connected to mother board ?

I'm pretty sure that the graphics card on most laptop today is built onto the motherboard. I wish it could be upgraded, but I'm almost positive it can't be. I wanted to upgrade my video card as well on my laptop because some games I tried running, Bioshock for example, are laggy.
But if anyone knows of ways to upgrade the video card, even if it means some soldering might be in order, please let me know too! -
CPU/HDD/RAM ==> Upgradeable.
GPU ==> Not. -
HDD and RAM are the easiest to upgrade. CPU is slightly more difficult but definnately possible. You can upgrade the sound card using the express card slots. Creative has some express card live! options that you can use. There is development on using the express card slot for add-on GPUs but no product has actually been released yet.

I have another question for people that are familiar with the hp dv6000z:
I was taking it apart yesterday using the manual provided by hp that details how to completely take the laptop apart. The reason I was doing this was to put in arctic silver on the cpu to help with heat a bit. Anyways, I took everything off as they stated, but I couldn't get off the top part where the mouse pad is. I looked through the manual several times and I disconnected everything it said to. I didn't want to apply force to taking off the piece because I didn't want to break it. Is there a trick to getting the cover off where the mouse pad is? I included a picture so you could see what I'm talking about.
