I'm looking forward to purchasing a a DV6500t and want one with an Intel 4965 card due to the draft-N as I don't want to add an external card or use up the expansion slot for a Wireless Card.

Would i be able to remove the 3945 card installed in the Dv6500t and install a 4965 at a later period? as in a normal desktop, or are the cards soldered on to the board. (4965 is not available in my area yet...).

    Thank you,

Yes, but if you're going to do that, you might as well wait for the actual 11n that the draft one.

If you're waiting for 802.11n final, you'll be waiting at least a year, if not longer ( wikipedia). Intel decided to start shipping the pre-N stuff now because all it will need is a firmware update, and it will then comply with the final "n" spec. The only issue right now would be cost.

HP has a "whitelist" of approved miniPCI WiFi cards in the BIOS that dramatically limits upgrade options unless you do a little BIOS hacking (described elsewhere in this forum). More importantly, I believe the antenna configuration is different for the 802.11n cards so if you're going to use it at all you'd best buy it preconfigured from HP.
