It does not use a standard DVD drive, its smaller (10mm instead of the 12mm I use in other notebooks). Anyone know a drive that is compatible?

Where did you see it was 10mm? That would be unusual. Most drives are 12.7mm and there's a few 9.5mm drives. Even rarer are 7mm drives. From the pictures it looks like a 12.7mm drive, but I don't have any firsthand knowledge.

When I bought my drive for my P-7811 on ebay it was a 12.7, fit my 7811 fine. Tried it out in my dv3510nr (dv3500 from BB) and it was to thick, measured it and it was about 10mm (so I'm guessing 9.5mm). Thank you, been trying to get someone to respond here for months (about 1 post a month), this was the first answer I got. Finding out about specifications on notebook hardware is a lot more difficult then desktops.

What drive do you have now? You can find out which drive it is in Device Manager and google it for the specs. That may yield some information.

That's a 12.7mm drive. Might want to check your ruler.
