My win7 installation is slowly falling apart due to a multitude of issues and I was planing on doing a clean reinstall. However, since this seems like a good time to upgrade to win8, I just want to see people's opinion on how the process will be. Are there win8 supported drivers for a majority of the hardware?

    Thanks

Check out the HP drivers section in this forum. All components have a working Win8 driver.

What kinda issues? Your summoning too much problem without say what is going on exactly? Also unless your laptop is touch screen I would advise not going to Windows8 as you will have to buy that instead of having your support for the W7 version that you have already. Just cause W8 is out there doesn't mean your laptop will have the drivers for W8 nor does that mean W7 drivers will work for W8 O/S. I have W7 on laptops and desktop and so far have no multitude of issues your describing and could be related to other software you have installed since then as well. So don't just blame the O/S for the program unless that is the only software you have on the laptop.
