    Upgrading my 2510P to 4GB Ram

    Hi all, I decided to upgrade my 2510P to 4GB of ram. As you know/or may not know, the 2510P only has 1 SODIMM slot, so a 4GB SODIMM must be used. However, it has a GM965 chipset that doesn't seem to support 4GB Modules. After doing some research, I decided to take the risk so I ordered a 4GB GSkill Module from memoryc.com for 113 Euros (Inc 10 Euros for shipping to Singapore).

    My 2510P is speced as follows:
    U7700 1.33GHz C2D
    2GB DDR2 RAM
    120GB 5400rpm 1.8" HDD (Samsung)

    The Module
    As I chose registered post, I only received this module this morning after placing the order on 25 Sept.

    Having received the module, I proceeded to upgrade my 2510P....

    Conclusion
    To Conclude, it is possible to upgrade the 2510P to 4GB ram. And now....back to enjoying my 2510P!

    I thought you needed to run a Win 64bit OS to address the full 4GB? What in your research made you decide to order the memory?

    Can you recommend other sites where I can find more 2510p upgrades/mods? I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade my stock DVD/CDROM drive or replace it with a faster 2.5 SSD?

    Excellent, now upgrade to 64-bit so you actually can make use of more than 75% of your $250 investment.

    That's good information to know for 2510P users.

    Now to use the full 4GB of RAM, you should eventually upgrade to a 64bit OS, but I'm sure you already knew that.

    Check to see how much RAM is available for Windows to use.. I think the Performance tab in the Task Manager.

    hello i have a question, my computer has been pretty much maxxing out the ram since i only have 1 gb. so i was wondering if i could also upgrade it to 4gb, but my specs are differernt from the person who did this. my specs are
    processor: U7600 1.20GHz C2D
    Ram:1.00GB
    System type: 32-bit OS windows 7 ultimant
    so if i did want to get 4 gb would i need to also upgrade my processor? or could i just just get the 4GB and 64-bit since that would be much less expensive for me. or would the system not even be able to use the whole 4 GB even with the 64-bit and if so i should just get a 2BG.

    4GB upgrade would need 64-bit OS to use all of it, otherwise 32-bit Win7 would only use ~3GB. U7600 CPU supports 64-bit code so no need to upgrade it, nor is it readily possible since the CPU is BGA soldered onboard.
