Hello!
I really need help! I'm using hp pavilion dv2700. It worked fine, until today I installed 3dmark06 and run the test. 3dmark gave me note - something to do with my video card, after I pressed ok, screen went black and laptop rebooted. After reboot, it worked for 1 minut, then black screen again and comp crashed. I rebooted in safe mode and deleted 3dmark. Then, downloaded drivers for video card from hp website and installed new video drivers. Computer started working normally, but after about 1 hour, it crached again.
NOW, WHEN I SWITCH IT ON, THERE IS BLACK SCREEN. I KEEP REBOOTING IT - NOTHING HAPPENS - JUST BLACK SCREEN (I CAN SEE THAT SCREEN IS WORKING). NO WINDOWS, NO HP LOGO.
PLEASE HELP

I'm guessing that you have one of the infamous defective NVIDIA graphics chips and running 3DMark was enough to push it over the edge. If you're lucky your notebook is on this list:

and HP will fix it for free. If not, reflowing the NVIDIA chip is the last ditch option. -
Thanks. Could you tell me please, what does it mean - reflowing th Nvidia chip? I don't understand

One question: Does your mute LED stay orange? Cause it might just need a hard reset by taking off battery and ac power and holding on the power button for 5-10sec and replug the ac adapter back in.
