    Hello all,
Unfortunately, my Envy 14 died. A bios update failed (viva HP!) and now it refuses to boot (2 flashes of caps lock diod, code for corrupted bios). Alas, I do not have a recovery partition.

I have attempted to create a USB recovery stick (HP UEFI) but, although it attempts reading it, it fails to restore. I believe it might be because I do not have *.sig files for the *.bin bios, or that the *.bin filename is wrong (although I did check it many times even using separate software).

Thus, I would be REALLY grateful if any kind owner of HP ENVY 14t-1000 (basically, first generation envy) could send to me their backup bios with sig files... or, to put differently, the contents of \Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current directory from the recovery partition.

Thank you SO MUCH in advance... Otherwise, it seems like I might be facing USD 2000 in unexpected expenditures :((.

    Best regards,
    Theriel

It seems like this forum brings good luck.

After 2 days of searching for help and soon after posting on this forum I have managed to locate some stupid *.sig file which the laptop happily accepted.

    The bios has been revived.

If there was anyone else also looking for the original HP-Tools for the aforementioned laptop... tell me!

    Best,
    Theriel

theriel, Last week my Envy 1110 decided to stop booting. I already have screen issues with the damn thing, and now I can't even get it to boot. What did you do to fix your problem?

btw, this will be my last HP. Too many issues in such a short time.

    Hi,
Firstly - don't lose faith in HP. Surprisingly, Envy is probably the MOST stable laptop I have ever owned. And believe me, I have seen many laptops...

You need to tell me more...
1)When did the problem happen (describe circumstances)
2)What is the error code? Look here. Keep in mind that the flashes might not be 100% visible or might be very slow and the signal will most likely be between regular, normal flashes of capslock. Look closely and try to establish what the problem is.
3)Do you have the original recovery partition (HP_TOOLS) on HDD attached?

    Best,
    Theriel
