I've got a DV9030 with Windows XP and the GeForce 7600 graphics card. I'm trying to hook the computer up to my 46" Sony HDTV via the HDMI output so I can watch Netflix Watch Instantly movies on it.

What's the trick to getting this to work right? When I hook the HDMI up, there is initially no picture on the TV. I've used the TV Wizard the GeForce has but I can never get the picture to work right. I've tried all the resolutions in the wizard. Either the TV just displays the desktop background with no icon, mouse pointer, etc, or it displays all the icons but they are off the screen and the screen adjustment doesn't fix them, or I lose the laptop display and the TV display is really tiny.

It's frustrating as my mom has a brand new Dell laptop with an HDMI. All she has to do is plug it in and it works perfectly.

Any tips on how I can get this to display right?

I am NOT sure, but I guess the 7600 doesn't support FHD?...

FHD = Full High Definition ( 1920x1080 and above )
