If I were to do a fresh install of Windows XP on an 8510p, could I just download the following software so that it'll automatically download and install all the required drivers for the HP stuff inside the laptop? Isn't this far easier than downloading each driver by itself and then installing them one by one?

Well, yeah you could but HP has all the drivers you will need to install XP on the drivers section for the 8510p. So, installing should be fairly pain free. In any case you will have to slipstream SATA drivers to install XP in the first place. I dont think you will be saving much time by letting that software install the drivers for you.
