    Using Internal TV tuner in Dv5t

    How do u use the interval TV tuner in Dv5t? I don't seem to get any signal even when i connect the external tower...or whatever is called... i got a pic of the tower... attached.

    That's called an antenna. That particular type is worthless unless you live in or very near a major city where the transmission towers are.

    But, using media center, when you configure for TV, choose antenna. You'll pull in some HDTV channels.

    I'm using a "rabbit ear" antenna - two retractable poles that used to come with old school TV sets - and can get HDTV on channels 2.1, 4.1, 5.1, 7.1, 9.1, 11.1. I'm about 30 miles away from NYC where all the station towers are.

    I don't use quickplay software. The Media center that is part of Win 7 (or Vista) I find to be better.

    hmm , ok.... i did get some signal when i was living in london... quite hopeless here in essex... countryside sigh... i'll wait for summer... with my windows open , more signal... is there anyway to use my cable tv box to stream to my laptop wirelessly or what?

    You should be able to use a coax splitter from your cable box over and pull channels that way also. There should be a cable that screws onto the coax and a small plug on the other end to plug in somewhere. What kind of port does your laptop have for the TV tuner?

    hey what drivers are you using to watch hd channels with your tv tuner. i have the ones that are up on the hp site and now i can only see analog channels when before i also had hd
