you'll need a TV tuner (USB or expresscard). the picture might be a bit laggy though.

A GameBridge 1400 or 1410 will work, and they are nearly lagless - which is very hard to find. The only lag is a 1/16 second on sound. There are guides for setting up with Vista. Problem is they go for about $50-60 for the 1400 and $80 for the 1410 on resellers.(1410 also has a tv tuner) Unfortunately, Adaptec no longer makes any new ones.

Something like this might work that is more recent:

Good luck, lagless is very hard to find. These days it seems the best option is to have an external monitor with HDMI and one of the new consoles that has HDMI out. Getting something to use the laptop screen from external has been very difficult for most companies. Even the external graphics card of Fujitsu Sa 3650 only works with an external monitor instead of the laptop monitor.
