    Hi guys,

After reading some reviews and doing some comparisons, I finally ordered my dv5000t last night. I'll put the specs below :) A quick question, how long does it usually take to build & ship? I'm going on vacation the 10th through the 15th and it never occurred to me that I might be on vacation when it arrives! I don't think that will happen, becuase I went with 2 day shipping, but is the date that they give you the actual date it will ship, or will it ship before that? Ordered last night about 9PM EDT...

    The specs...
Genuine Windows XP Media Center Edition
    Intel Core Duo processor T2250 - 1.73GHz
    15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen
    128MB nVidia GeForce Go 7400
    1GB of DDR2 SDRAM
    80GB 5400 RPM SATA HDD
    8X DVD+/-R/RW w/Double Layer Support
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG w/Bluetooth
    12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
Genuine Windows XP Media Center Backup CD
Free (After Mail-in Rebate) HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One

Total after mail in rebates and shipping/taxes - $1073.36

Also, what would you guys recommend for a bag for my new baby? :p

check the website for your expected build date. That is when is will be built and sent. It will take perhaps 2 days max to get it. The built date is pretty much accurate.

Shanghai or Kunshan, China. From my experience your dv5000 may as well ship earlier than the build date. I have had laptops arrive 2 days or even a week before the estimated build date. So, I would suggest you try to keep checking the order status page every morning since the laptop is built in China which is about 12hrs ahead of the EST as it can ship earlier than the build date.

My 5000T arrived five days before the HP tracking site said it would and I went with the free 5-7 day shipping and live in Alaska. The 2 day was probably a waste of money.
I was watching the progress of my shipment and it passed through Anchorage on the way to the Indy customs station! Thats Fedex though....
    Great service all the time.

My dv2000t arrived the day after the build date.
