    What is rpm of ur previous HDD? if your previous hdd is 4200rpm then u would see some improvement. You dont have to buy the recovery disk, just use a window xp installer cd you got all the drivers downloaded. Burrow from ur friend or some1, use the same product key on the sticker at the back of ur laptop.

    you will see improvement from 4200 to 5400 rpm. Yet, $119 for a 3-4 year old notebook is not a wise investment unless you have no other choice. It is likely that after 3 years of use, components will start to fail.
