The Dual Cores are available for customization on the hpshopping website as of this morning! Anyone biting? I'll probably wait till the DV4000 is updated with the duo. For me to bite on this, I need atleast the Radeon X700 -- the integrated Intel graphics just won't cut it for me. Anyone have an idea when the DV4000 will get updated with the Duo as an available option? Hopefully soon.

Beat me to it. Unfortunately, they both have only integrated graphics and matte screens - neither of which is what I'm looking for. I was really looking forward to the dv1000t.

    Best,
    Howie

    Yep. :)

Matte screen? The only option I saw available was the BrightView. Isn't that the glossy screen?

Yeah, these only are available with BrightView screens, the glossy kind. These are too expensive in my opinion for notebooks that don't even have dedicated gpus, I'd like the price to drop by a couple hundred dollars before biting on this.
I'm hoping that the integrated webcam and microphone and updated QuickPlay software will find their way into the single core DV1000s. I'd really like to see the Turions in the DV1000s.

Kinda pricey right now, I would hold off for a month...

Oh, I most definitely will be waiting until ometime in March to buy (don't have a choice). I want something 14" form factor or smaller with Core Duo (that's the only hard and fast criteria for me), and who knows? If I can somehow manage it I may end up with a Sony SZ by that time since it has a better GPU. Everything's open to change depending on circumstances at the moment.
