I got my v2000z laptop today. On top of the display it says v2000 and when I try to do updates it says v2000. How do I know I got a v2000z?

System properties. Does it say you have an AMD processor?

If it has an AMD CPU (Sempron or Turion), it's a v2000z.

Above the display, on the right? It does say "Presario V2000" because that is the notebook series. Do updates where?
