I can't figure this out. My settings are correct at 32 bit but my wallpapers and certain parts of IE look as if the colors are 16 bit. (They don't blend, looks blocky)

My friends V2305 looks normal using the same drivers and software. I installed his OS from scratch just like mine.

I know someone else with a V2405 that has the same problem as me. We've fiddled with all driver options but can't find a fix.

    Anyone have ideas? Thanks

Yes i noticed that too. At certain angles, the greyscale at the Internet Explorer menu area has some blocky gradiations. I don't notice it in some programs. I know there is a test somewhere to know if your LCD is 16-bit or not. I dont remember exactly where, perhaps someone does.

What application you use to view the picture? I found out some web browser and some other non-graphic specific apps support less bits...
Try to open the image on the program you are sure that it does support more bits color, says Photoshop or similar.
If that display the same thing, reinstalling driver might help.

I've got the brightview screen. I'm not using any particular applications, things like the windows desktop wallpaper look messed up too. (High resolution 32 bit ones).

Neero, what you describe is exactly my problem.

The 16bit colour rendering occurs whenever ATI's PowerPlay "Optimal Battery Life" setting is in effect. You can disable PowerPlay or set all of the PowerPlay sliders to "Optimal Performance".
