Hello, I've just signed up to this forum because you guys seem very knowledgeable, experienced and friendly which is why I want to ask this specific question. I was checking out the V2410CA at my local store and I was looking at the specs and it said 512k L2 cache for the ML-30 and that stumped me. I went to the AMD site earlier that day and it specced the ML-30 as 1MB L2 cache, not 512k which was listed at the retail store.
So, my question for you guys is how come its not 1MB cache for the CPU when AMD only makes ML-30 with 1MB L2 cache? Unless i'm missing a piece of the story here regarding to Compaq making their own AMD branded CPUs or something.
Here are the two websites that I was looking at and referring to in my situation.

AMD plays funny games with their model numbers sometimes.
I've seen the same processor model with different specs (Higher CPU clock speed with lower cache memory for example).
The only way to be sure is to check the actual model your buying with a program like CPU-Z before you buy.
BTW - Expect no more than three hours of use with the standard 6-cell battery. -
If its a ml-30, its gonna be 1mb cache. Ml-28 is the 512k one.

ML-32 also has 512k cache.
When I bought mine, the ad said ML-30, 1.8GHz. Well, there is no ML-30, clocked 1.8 ghz - it was their mistake, the model was ml-34 as listed in the specs list. So request a specificaitons list and check out the model and the GHz. I don't believe they will make such a blunder there. -
HP is good at listing the specifications of their current running retail models. It is always a good idea to check there since many retailers do make a bunch of errors...

I had seen this cache issue too...(I am looking at thislaptop as well). I think FS has made a mistake (not a surprise) as all other retailers I look at with the laptop list it at 1M L2 Cache.
Any anyone care to enlighten me on any issues with battery life with this model or with Compaq in general? 3 hours (as mentioned earlier) is fine for my purposes. Thanks!!
