    Hi,

I have a problem with my Compaq V2555US. Yesterday, after running windows XP for more than one hour, a blue screen appeared and it said:

    Hardware malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
    NMI: channel check IOCHK
    The system has halted.

I tried to reboot the computer and it still started windows. But after several minutes, the problem happened again.

After several times, I even couldn't run anything. The power light was on but the LCD was blank. It was funny that after a night, I turned it on again and it could start Win. However, after that, problem appeared again and now it doesnt start (just power light on). I have tried to change RAM, HDD and removed Wireless card but couldn't fix it.

I contacted with HP support and they said that the problem might be in motherboard and suggested me send it for further check.

    Can anyone help me?
    Tks

You obviously have some sort of hardware failure and it's not the RAM, HDD, or wireless card. Unless you have a spare motherboard or CPU lying around, I would do as HP suggested.
