I just got one after getting rid of my Toshiba M55. I've only had it for about two hours and just had to comment on the screen, it is an amazing screen, definately better than the M55s and that already had a great screen.

This is the first laptop I've ever owned where I've had to run ithe screen brightness on like the 3rd highest setting because its so bright on the higher ones!

The contrast is amazing and such. Of all laptops I've owned/used, this for sure has the best screen I've seen so far.

Any other V3000 owners agree with me?

Sorry, I don't have a camera and even then I'd doubt it would accurately show how bright it is.
It certainly looks brighter than the display model did at Circuit City.
This screen is as bright as the ones on the Vaio FS/FE, which have been one of if not the brightest notebook screens I have personally seen.

I'm quite surprised as the Brightview screen on my old HP DV4000 a year back was not nearly as bright as the one on this V3000.

I agree, it's very bright, better than most Toshiba similar priced laptop TrueBrite screen. It's pretty much like the $3000 HD Toshiba laptop in terms of brightness.

Use the Nvidia to adjust the Digital Vibrance to get a even better picture.

Does the compaq really weight a bit more than the HP?

No, it weighs the same 5.3lbs. Although if you get the dv2000t with Go7200, you will get a 90W power adaptor instead of the standard 65W for the V3000 & dv2000(with GMA 950). So in the end the total weight of the dv2000t(with Go 7200) will be higher.

Why C D with Go 7200 need more power? I get confused.

Besides, I found the remote control card option is taken off from V3000 CTO options. Why?

Might be they listed it including the A/C adaptor. I had both and no noticable difference in weights.

The 7200 consumes more power than either the 950 or 6150. The power adaptor has to be capable of supporting the max power draw of the system and also at the same time be able to charge the battery. So, they probably had to go to the next highest in the power adaptor which happened to be the 90W version.

They keep on removing and adding options. I dont know of the exact reason but dont be surprised if sometimes the option disappears.

Please tell us who makes your screen.

Go to Device Manager --> monitor and click on properties and what does it say when you hit the details tab ..

    thanks.

So the Go7200+Core Duo is expect to have shorter battery life in some sense. Just wander if somebody has battery score on DV6000Z, and where it stands.

Note necessarily. If you are gaming while on battery then, yeah it will give less battery time than the others, but if you are surfing the web or doing such mundane tasks, then the difference might be negligible(+/- 15 - 20mins).
