well heres the problem. i have my notebook, v3000z, my slingbox, my dlink dgl 4300 wireless router.
heres the problem.
i cant get the slingbox to work using remote viewing on another network. but when im on my home network i can. but it tells be to do the setup of the "remote viewing". but every time i do it still says cannot connect to slingbox over the internet. so now i think it has something to do with the router configuration, (from what i read from the internet similar people have had the same problem, and majority of them have just rebooted their routers to its original state) but then i read the manual that i can mess up the router by doing that wirelessly. but my notebook comes with an Ethernet jack so i plug one in. but my notebook does not recognize it. and every time i try to create a new connection in windows xp, when i finish the wizard it does not even show up under network connections.
so heres the order of problems
cant create a new connection in xp (wired)>cant reboot dlink router wirelessly (or risk it getting messed up)>cant get my slingbox to use remote viewing.
but basically all i need is for someone to help me diagnose the problem with me creating a new connection that does not show up under network connections.![]()

i would use my desktop but im currently modding the case so i took everything apart, so my notebook is my only option right now!
V3000z - chain reaction - internet connection - slingbox
