    Hi there,

Due to the incompatibility of the broadcom 4311 under linux and me not wanting to use ndiswrapper (due to flakyness) I have bought a mini pcie intel 3945 card.

When I swap the card out, the bios does not detect the card which I know is due to this intel card not being on the bios whitelist of allowed wifi cards.

My question is has someone here attempted to unlock the bios to get this or any other aftermarket wifi card to work? If so, how difficult/easy was it? Is there instructions available somewhere that I could follow? and lastly how dangerous is it to mess with the bios like this and the chances of ending up with a brick?

Thanks in Advance for any help!
