My v3019 went blank a few days ago, and I think it's the video card. I have had it just over 2 years now, and no warrenty! I have only replaced rom drives, and don't have much experiance working on computers. I have been doing alot of reading about the semptoms ( locking up, pink/fuzzy screen, self/auto rebooting). Right before the sceen went "blank / black" there was a "blue" error screen, but it went "black / blank" befor I could read the error screen.

I would realy like to get this computer running again, any help would be realy appriciated.

    Thanks.

Nope, you have to replace the entire motherboard for that.

Just as an FYI, the V3019's are included in a product repair/recall and HP should fix your system even if it is out of warranty...

I would give them a call and ask about getting it fixed for free.

    Thanks guys

I had seen the recall, but I think I'm just ouside the 24 month grace period. I will give it a try anyway. If they will not fix it for free, what options do I have with this computer? Should I toss it, or is it worth buying the parts and trying to make the repairs myself ? I noticed ebay had the motherboards for arround $150, is the video card intergrated or built in the motherboard ? I'm sorry for all the questions, but I have been wanting to learn more about hardware, repairs, and upgrades anyway.

*The pc does power up, the rom drive spins, fans turn on.

Any information would be helpfull, thanks.
