Hey guys why are there NO reviews of the V4000t - no opinions either on the review pages! Are people just drawn more towards the dv4000 and the v4000t just has barely any buyers? Anyone own the v4000t here? i'd like some opinions.
    Thanksss

It's the same insides as the dv4000, just without the quickplay. The quickplay was worth a couple extra bucks to me, so I got the dv4000. Performance-wise, there shouldn't be any difference.

Slappy here my dilemma - so i absolutely LOVE the v2000z - however, i'd like something more powerful to handle photoshop, quark, maya.

So id like the v4000t cuz it has the look of the v2000z but with DV4000's Graphics card x600. Im just concerned how the built quality is of the v4000t. Is it similar to the V2000z??

Im hoping the only difference betwenn the v2000z and the v4000t is that its 15 inches, has x600, and possibly better because it has Pen M instead of Turion (I had the v2000z wtih Turion and it got HOT fast! so i returned it!)

So am im confused if im getting what i really want out of the v4000t. Im hoping the V4000t isnt worse performance wise compared to the dv4000 or v2000z. Out of those three i just want the best one - however im knocking outhe dv4000 b/c its too bulky for me. ANd im assuming the v4000t is not as bulky as the dv4000.

I would say you are exactly right on that. Those are really the only differences.

Now what do you mean by the V4000 not being as bulky as the DV4000? I'd say the DV4000 and V4000 are almost the same in weight and size. The DV4000 just has a different case and has the QuickPlay feature. Oh, and both can come with an X700 not X600. I'd say the V4000 has the exact same build quality as the V2000s, it just has a bigger case thats all. I can't see any reason why you would be unhappy with it, looks like a very good match for you.

Can anyone help me? I purchased a Presario V4000T in December. I got the Pentium M 2.13ghz, with 1024 ram. However, there is a fan that turns on after about 2 minutes of turning the laptop on. The fan stays on. I don't know if this is normal or not. This laptop replaced a presario 2700T that I've owned for four years. The 2700T fan only comes on when I'm playing a game or something intense. My current laptop the fan turns on even if I have no programs running. I have checked a bunch of other reviews and no one is mentioning anything about fans, so I'm wondering 1. either it is normal now-a-day for a laptop to run with a fan, or 2. my laptop has something wrong with it.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject??

    Thanks

Check you temps but I'm sure there's nothing wrong. Get the latest BIOS as this may reduce the fan kick offs.
Be sure to set the Power scheme in Windows to Portable/Laptop, because this enables the CPU throttle. If you feel like doing it, I would suggest undervolting. This will give you the best results

My sister's laptop (i1100) had the same problem. I took the keyboard out, blasted the sucker with some compressed air, and now it runs really cool. (Given the fact that it's 3 years old).
