    I need to know what temps you V6000z/dv6000z owners are getting.

    I'm getting:

    CPU Temp: 30-33 C
    Core #1: 55-61 C
    Core #2: 46-52 C

    No cooling pad, but have the 12 cell battery that elevates the case with a small fan blowing air through from the side.

    CPU: 803.65MHz
    CPU Temp: 55C
    Core #1: 56C
    Core #2: 54C
    CPU Voltage: 0.8V
    Core #1 Load: 13%
    Core #2 Load: 28%
    Battery: 10.93V

    Fan OFF

    Generally on battery power, the temps will go from 53C to about 63C, and then the fan will kick in, cool it to about 53C, and it keeps cycling like that. The fan rarely goes above low speed when on battery power since the CPU is throttled down so low, and most of the time, it's off.

    I just got a dv6000z, and when on battery, the fan hardly kicks in. This is with Internet browsing, programming, and listening to music. However, when on AC, the laptop tends to run a little warmer.

    On idle
    Core1 & Core2 = 50C
    GPU = 70C O.O

    On load
    Core1 & Core2 = 60C~65C
    GPU = ~76C

    Since it's an NVIDIA motherboard, I can't really detect the hard drive temps

    Also, I have noticed that if you elevate the back of the laptop by an inch, it dramatically helps keep the notebook cooler. Another thing that helps is the Antec notebook cooler. Works great with the HP dv6000z, but not so great with the Compaq Presario V5000 series. With the Antec pad, the CPU never gets past 55C when doing moderate work as well as the GPU stays around 73C. This in return puts less wear on the fan. However, when gaming on the laptop, fans will automatically kick in. *shudders*

    Runs cooler than my Dell Precision M90... then again, the M90 is a full desktop replacement compared to my HP dv6000z.
