I have a question about the Envy 14. Thank you.

There are 2 vents on the Envy 14,
    -1 on the right
    -1 at the back

Do these vents both blow hot air out?
    Or is one an intake?

Because wouldn't the vent on the right, bother right-handed people using a mouse?

they both blow hot air out.

and it doesn't really bother my mouse hand since you can angle the computer a bit (and that air rises very quickly) and it's only the back right half. You can also just keep the mouse pad a bit farther away (air rises quickly or whatever and you don't feel it that far away from the vent)

It could be annoying sometimes if a vent blows hot air out
    where you use the mouse.
When playing games, the vent blows really hot air out.
The GPU will be around 76-80 degrees Celsius.

Not saying you are wrong but personally I've never had a problem even after gaming for 2 hours with a mouse.

Playing Dead Space 2 I noticed that often

Even then, I dont think the computer got hot to the touch at all. They did a really good job with ventilation on the 14.

    Thanks for replies.
Yes, this is what I thought.

Because I used to own an Asus W7J, and it had a vent on the right back-half also. And it always annoyed me in games because that is where my mouse hand is.

Q/A for the Envy 14 owners about the vents. Thanks.
Is the hot air exhaust from the back vent the same as the right vent?
Or is one less? (from what you feel)
    And how hot is it?

Can't wait to see how the SB Envy and the Coolsense help to alleviate any cooling concerns.

    Coolsense is software-based.
The SB envy might be a little cooler.

If you use a laptop cooler or just anything that elevates the back, the hot air will miss your hand. You can't really feel the hot air 4-6 inches away, anyway.

The problem is, and I have experience from my old Asus W7J, my hand is like 1 inch away.
And elevating it doesn't help when my mouse hand is that close. (it's a habit)

So this is why, I wanted to know if it's hot next to that vent. Thanks of the replies.

I'm thinking about buying either the SB Envy 14, or Sony SA (both with AMD 6630). But that Sony SA has it's vent behind the screen......... seriously... who designs this stuff.
OR, but I don't really wanna do this, but go 15+ inch size, and buy a Dell XPS 15.

Ah yeah. I tend to keep my hand like 3 to 5 inches from the fan. Though it may be close to 2 to 3. Also I keep my hand closer to me than to the vent which is in the back right past the ethernet cord.

I use my laptop on a desk (at least for gaming/video editing when it would heat up a lot), and push it farther back from my mouse. It can get quite annoying if you're trying to use a mouse right next to it, but if you angle the laptop or just move it back so that you aren't in the direct airflow of the vent I think you'll be alright.
