    Vertical lines through my screen?

    Hello

    i have a Hp laptop and The problem is that i just turned on my computer few week ago a Yellow line vertically ran down my screen,i knew it was something bad but now i have 3 and its becoming a problem...Any suggestion that might help :( is gladly appreciated

    It would help if you could provide us the specs of the laptop, or at least the model of your laptop.

    Try hooking up an external monitor. If that has the same problem it's your graphics chip (and almost certainly NVIDIA) and if not it's your LCD panel, as a rule.

    I've had the same problem. If it doesn't show up on an external monitor, you'll want to replace the LCD. It'll involve a lot of screws and an hour or two if you aren't used to disassembling your computer, but it's otherwise straightforward.

    okay its either the screen or the gpu but most likely the screen and this is just the beginning the screen gets more lines as time passes so u need to replace it but just to make sure plug into an external monitor............ :)

    mines hp pavillion dv8000,really big laptop

    so is my laptop screen basically slowly dieing out?

    yup slowly dying a painful death sorry man..............should be able to find a replacement screen in ebay.....
