Where the HECK do I get this 14" sleeve for the HP Verve?

I had a chat with HP and the girl had no clue, even though I've seen it on their website. It's super snazzy and matches my verve laptop. I WANT IT!

Observe: only picture existing anywhere just below!

Is it not the hottest thing since sliced bread? Why can't ONE HP rep give me a straight answer about it?!?!

They would make such a killing, because the people who bought the verve laptop to begin with are obviously style whores. What could be more stylish than a matching protective sleeve?

Okay, they only sell it through the HP/online website as extra accessories if you buy the verve special edition. =/

    – HP 14" Reversible Notebook Sleeve
    – HP Wireless Laser Mouse (Verve)

Yeah - that's the same stuff I've seen - I looked everywhere. Maybe they'll make it available eventually? I've even looked on E-bay. No luck. So dumb that they don't make that available. What is the verve mouse you speak of?

These were my alternatives to the matching wonderfulness that would have been verve imprint:

    Logitech low-profile mouse
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TKHBDK

Stylish belkin sleeve (but it's no verve :-( )

If you ordered the dv2700t SE it's included with the verve notebook automatically (for $150 more than the regular edition ;) ). You could check your order confirmation page to see if it is there. Mine's listed right at the bottom below Microsoft Works.

I found a little more information about it on HP's site:

    HP 14" Reversible Notebook Sleeve
This sleeve is made specifically for your 14" HP notebook. It's durable Neoprene case protects your HP notebook from scratches, spills, and dings. You can choose which style - a unique HP design (Verve) or reverse it to all black. It also easily slips into a larger carrying case while protecting your notebook.

Gaah I have to wait at least till next friday to see it.

Hey, on Monday I ordered a dv2700tse- which of course now comes with the sleeve for free. I've read these forums before, but I found this post because I was looking for a place to sell the sleeve, in case it doesn't fit with the 12-cell battery (which I ordered). From everything I've heard, it won't fit. SO, when I receive it I'll check to see if it fits in the sleeve, and if it doesn't, it's for sale to the highest bidder here :) I don't have an ebay account or anything like that, and I don't feel like setting one up, which is good news for you- you've gotta read this thread to have a shot. Anyway, I've gotta go take a Greek quiz, but if you're interested email me at darkhelmet16 AT juno.com (not the same as my forum registered email). Thanks!

In any other circumstances, I would NEVER buy something outside of E-bay. However, I want the sleeve so bad, I'm willing to make an exception. Keep me posted, or send me a private message when you get it. And don't stretch it out trying to get it over that 8 cell battery!!! Lol.

If you have paypal, that'll make me more inclined to jump on it, because that's protected.

I'd have to draw the line at $25-$30. That's what neoprene sleeves usually max out at.

Yeah, I was thinking about it during class and realized it probably would be safest for everyone involved for me to use ebay/paypal. Worth the trouble, I think, to avoid any scamming or accusations thereof. I'd probably start the auction at $20 + shipping, but I'm hoping for a bit more :) I'll keep everyone posted when it arrives- in the meantime, here are the specs:

    # Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.50 GHz, 6 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    # 14.1" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
    # 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    # 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
    # HP Imprint Finish (Verve) + Webcam + Microphone
    # Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth(TM)
    # 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    # FREE Upgrade to LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support!!
    # 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    # HP 14" Reversible Notebook Sleeve

I ordered this on Monday, by Wednesday the order status on HP's website said "order in production." Estimated shipping date is March 3rd, which I assume is a generic calculation; I've heard of some delays in Penryn processor shipments, though. Anyone have any input on when I might actually get this thing? I'm already tired of waiting and it's only been 5 days...

That sleeve is so mine. Let me know when its up. I have a verified paypal account.

There could be delays in everything. The new Penryn production laptops is quite busy at the moment. Most of them arrive promptly though

I'm gonna go talk to a friend of mine who's been making money on ebay for a long time- I'm a college student in a small town in Indiana and I don't know what all is involved with international shipping. If it's not much more trouble, I'm fine with it (the buyer's paying anyway), but if it turns out I have to drive somewhere to drop it off and fill out paperwork, that would be a deterrent. This is a one-time deal, I don't plan on becoming an ebay power seller or anything like that, so I can be reasonable, as opposed to those who deal in such high volumes that shipping internationally is a logistical burden. In any case, before I put the auction up (again, assuming the case doesn't fit with the battery I've got), I'll let you guys know the rules :)

This is with my laptop in it but without any battery since I couldn't fit it in with the 12-cell battery.

But hey, all you Verve users! I have the dv2550se, the one from BestBuy and I want to upgrade the ram to 3gb. Is it possible? And which ram exactly do I put in?

Sure, it's possible- quite easy in fact. It looks like the dv2550se has a Core 2 Duo T5250 processor, with a 667mhz Front Side Bus. If that's the case, you're set- you'll need PC5300 or PC5400 (same thing really) DDR2-SDRAM, which runs at 667mhz.

Hey, I received the computer (and case) on Wednesday, and I've gotta say, I LOVE it! Another thing I have to say, though, is that $65 is way too much to pay for this sleeve. I mean, if you want it that bad of course I'd be happy to ship it to you for that price, I just don't want to let you rip yourself off! I'm gonna guess this is the same quality as those plain black sleeves that cost $15- it's a nice look, but that's about it. If you still want it I'm still happy to ship it to you through the US Postal Service, I just don't want to be in any way responsible for someone not quite getting what they paid for. Let me know what you want to do. Thanks!

You're a good guy Darkhelmet, but I think Flip wants it just a little more than I do, so unless he's already found one, go for it Flip. I actually already paid $30 for a Belkin Cabernet neoprene sleeve (that would have gone great with the sangria VAIO that I was going to get). If he doesn't bite, will you take $20 plus shipping? My e-bay ====> Jong81 (go figure, same as my NBR)

Flip: how about $50USD including shipping? I think we'd both feel better about that in the long run :)

I would take $20 plus shipping if he doesn't want it.

Also, in the interest of disclosure: the bag the sleeve came in was labeled as follows:

    "SA: 457687-001
    Spares P/N: 458248-001"

I did some cursory research and it looks like you can only order spare parts from HP if you're a certified repair shop, but if anyone finds a way for a consumer to order items by part number, that might be the best way to go- that way there's enough to go around! :) Just a thought.

Well I just got my dv2799ea so I thought i'd give some feedback on the slipcase.

It is a REALLY tight fit! I like that about it though because it's like having a skin tight cover for it making it easy to handle.

Overall I think it's worth about £5! It really is nothing special though, the verve imprint on it doesn't look very good. I think you guys that want one so desperately are going a bit overboard!!

I think it's really stupid that the pre-made models don't just come with it like the custom-made. So annoying.
