Very happy with 6930p, some questions still

I just got a refurbished 6930p for 550€ and I couldn't be happier. It runs fast, cool and quiet (T9400 undervolted to 1.0125V). Not too much bloatware too and CCcleaner took care of it ;) My only complain is the somehow dim screen. It's pretty decent at 100% brightness but it degrades very quickly when the brightness is reduced (I disabled the light sensor).

I've however a pair of questions:
    - Is it possible to exchange the rubber cap on the trackpoint for an IBM one ? This one is quite uncomfortable.
    - Is there a way (without voiding the warranty) to tone down the leds of the function bar ? In dark settings, the laptop looks a bit like a Christmas tree.
    - Is there a way to create recovery DVDs ? I've looked around the HP utilities without success.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Edit: for the recovery DVDs, HP messed up and there's no way to make some. One has to order those DVD from HP support.

Yes, it is possible to exchange the rubber cap. I'm using the one from my old Thinkpad T60 on 8540p, but it should be the same on 6930p.
