I've loaded the latest video driver for my notebook from the HP download center here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...en&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=385148&dlc=en
I've done all that it says to do and restarted the HP notebook.... done all this several times in the last few days.
Problem is this..... this page says that this latest version I'm downloading and installing is version 8.003.3c release date 2005-07-07
When I get it loaded and running in my notebook (after restart) and I go and check... laptop says it's running version 6.14.0010.6436 release date 5-15-04.
Why isn't it running the newest version that I downloaded and installed? I've tried several times.... each time it seems to load properly, but nooooo.

Hi.
You normaly have to install a standard vga driver before you install a new driver in Xp
I think it cleans out the old driver that way?

Thanks, tried that with same result. Somehow I'm ending up with an older version driver from the one advertised on the page.... however it's a newer driver than the one I had before.
Weird, might it have something to do with SP3 loaded on my computer? -
I'm having some major issues here with two of my HP programs....
** HP SoftPaq Download Manager - crashes when I download, install, and run the program
** HP Diagnostic Utilities - crashes when I try and run it
I've run all of the Windows Updates and the older version ATI video driver (6.14.0010.6436) seems to be passing the test, but it's not the latest version.
So, I've tried deleting the video driver and gone back to basic VGA... why would I keep getting this same older version video driver (6.14.0010.6436)when I download the "latest version" (8.003.3c) from the HP web page? -
