    Nvidia havent announced which of their older generation chips have the problems. So, no one really knows which ones are the defective. The news reports about the G84/86 being defective dont really mention the source, so at this point no one other than nvidia knows which are the ones with the higher failure rate.

    As miner said, its all speculation. The fact that Nvidia had to put aside 200million to fix this problem worries everyone. 200million is quite alot of money just to fix gpu's.

    i went ahead and ordered one. if anything, i have a year to add on an extended warranty
