    i have a question regarding radeon 9600 ram. i have a zx5190 hp laptop. it has a radeon 9600 w/ 64mb. is it possible to increase my video ram? my plan is to buy a ati radeon 9600 video card for desktop computers then replace a part of it with my notebook's video card to increase its ram, is it possible? tnx for your replies.

    The whole video card is sodered right to the motherboard no parts on for the video components are replacable. In this model you could change the CPU to another cpu that has a 478 socket, you can change ram and hard drive. I've also read its possible to change your cd/dvd drive. Just to note HP says you can only change the hard drive and ram, anything else you do void warrenty.

    Just to add, this also applies to pretty much all notebooks in the market. You may be able to find a few notebooks (Dell, Alienware) that you can upgrade the GPU, but not the amount of video memory. Desktop parts will not fit into a notebook, so I wouldn't attempt it.
