I got my DV4000 and so far I love it. My biggest complaint is the viewing angle of the screen. I have the 15.4 BV screen and you have to be staring perfectly at it and level for it to look good. My brother has a verly low end Toshiba, whit a 15.4 bright screen, and his viewing angle are so much better then mine. Is it just that different brands have better viewing angles then others? Kinda dissapointing, he paid 600 and I paid 1600, so that hurts.... Other then that though the dv is great, playing UT2004 right now and getting 75-150 FPS all the time :) The toshiba can't do that!!

Yeah that's just how these laptops are. My v4000t has a matte screen and the viewing angle is not the greatest. It does help if you want to keep prying eyes from seeing what you are doing ;).

I keep hearing complaints about the viewing angle of HP's laptops. If anyone knows how to check the manufacturer of the LCD display we might do a survey/poll because I get the feeling that recently HP's screen quality deteriorated.
I have l2000, 6 months old now, and I think the viewing angle is quite good. The difference may come from the fact that this is 14inch laptop and in order to use it I have to look straight at it but even if I go a meter to the right I can read everything on the screen, without grey spots or blurry picture.
My zv6000 (15inch) (9 months old) also has a great viewing angle although you might say it's a bit worse than that of l2000 (the vertical one).

l know exactely what you mean. l got my V4000T two days ago and you have to be in the perfect spot to see everything correctly on the screen. lf l move my head a couple inches to the sides or up & down the quality goes downhill.

Maybe so but my laptop HP ZV5000 has an amazing screen and I can view it from any direction with no issue whatsoever!

Well they are not all bad becasue few people complain about dead pixels. I haveonly one on my laptop and it is on the far left side of the screen.
