Hey. My brother has gotten a new laptop a few months ago: HP Pavilion DV7-1245DX. Since that time it has been slowing down every day. I am fixing people's computers throughout the city but I can't heal this one.
At this time, it takes it ~4 min. to open the internet explorer 8, and previewing photos on it is just a pain in the neck. I can't figure out what is going on. The laptop has come originally with the Windows Vista 64-bit operating system. I have reinstalled all the drivers, specifically for the 64-bit version, reflashed the BIOS, defragmented the registry, defragmented the hard drive, checked for viruses, malware, trojans etc. Can someone help me with this? I am just out of my mind...

Internet Explorer 8 sucks. Try Opera and feel the change.
For viewing photos a good alternative is IrfanView.
How many processes do you have running and what is the CPU usage? Also download the DPC Latency Checker and see if you get any red bars. -
It is not only bout the internet browser or photos; I know these software. The entire set of apllications runs slowly, along with booting the computer. I run the DPC-- sometimes yellow bars....
Vista 64-bit issues...
