I created the recovery discs for my new dv9000t and right afterwards when rebooting I got the blue screen of death. It happened several times in a row, I actually let it try to repair itself but that didn't work either. Finally after maybe 6 reboots it booted into Vista. I then proceeded to uninstall all the bloatware, rebooted and again got the BSOD 3 times, finally on the 4th times it booted ok. I'm just wondering what the problem could be, I don't have any peripherals attached to it and I haven't installed any software yet. If the ram was bad I figure it wouldn't boot at all. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? Before I created the recovery discs I had no problem.
On another note can anyone tell me if the Roxio software that comes with it is decent or should I uninstall that also?

A system will still boot even if the Ram has problems. My girlfriends computer ( Brand New dv8000t) did the same thing. She returned it and got a new one, haven't had the problems since.

I can'y help you with the boot error, but I can offer my opinion on the Roxio software. I hate it. I bought a Dell desktop 6 months ago and it came with that junk on it. I tried it, but found I preferred WMP for most functions, EAC (exact audio copy, a freeware) for CD recording, and my DVD burning software is also a freeware (and one of the best IMHO) IMGBurn. If you want some programs for ripping and encoding, I would be glad to share. I do a ton of backups as DVDs don't travel well in the car with the kids
