Hello I am looking to buy a DV 6000t soon..

One thing i wanted to find out is if you ask HP will they give you the official Vista cd so you can do a clean install?

Next i was looking at the 6000t online and noticed that they offer a high capacity 6 cell battery now. How much more life does it offer compared to the standard 6 cell?

No the CD is loaded with bloatware. airman has outlined a nice bloatware removal guide in the prospective owners thread.

With regaurds to the 6 cell high cap.... it may be 10-20% better, but why not spring for the 12 cell and be done with it?

    Thanks sandt38,

    Quoted from HP's Site:

"The High Capacity 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery provides 16% more capacity than our standard 6-cell battery, so you can extend your entertainment time".

Just pissed that they didn't offer the high capacity battery when I was configuring mine a couple weeks ago.

There are 76 pages to that thread ... do you know roughly what page his guide is on?
(I just bought a dv6000z and need to deal with that bloatware soon.)

All reports I've read say that no clean CD is available.

No, thank you Airman. I used DLCC on my desktops and it was sweet.

When I reformat my Dell (POS) I'll be sure to use the DLCC on it after I pull all the bloatware they throw on it as well. Why I bought a Dell, I will never know.

16%? So they went from the 1400mAh to a 1600 mAh battery then. I'd still rather double that and get the 12 cell, but that is just me.

eh...I dont now if 16% is really worth the extra 30 dollars...but on the other hand I hate how the 12 cell extrudes from the bottom.
