I have a dv6200t CTO, originally it came pre-installed with Vista Home Premium. However, I did a clean install with a Vista DVD and just used the OEM cd key. I installed the latest HP Launch Button drivers. When i press the mute button the color doesn't change between red and blue at all. Is there anything I can do to get it to change colors appropiately.

Then, with the Expresscard Remote the buttons like the power and the volume work just fine. However, when i click on the Windows Media Center button it doesn't do anything. How, do i fix it so it will launch WMC like it should?

Thanks Jamaicanyouth, the driver update did the job. I didn't think that would be the solution because I thought it was more of a hp launch button driver. But, i guess I was wrong. So once again thanks.

Now, does anyone have any solutions to get Windows Media Center to launch when I press on the button using the Expresscard Remote?

I did a clean install using a retail dvd that I have, NOT the HP recovery disks. Everything installed just fine and I was able to get Windows Activated. However, when I try to use the Expresscard remote only some of the buttons work. The one in particular that I would like to get working the Windows Media Center button. Has anyone else experienced this same problem? Then, does anyone have ANY ideas for a solution?

I think the reason why the remote won't launch Windows Media Center is because of a driver or software issue? Does anyone else think that is the problem? If so, what driver would I need to get? I don't think it is on drivers page for the dv6200t CTO. Would there be a way to pull the drivers or software off a working hp Vista image?

I don't mean to be posting just to bump this thread up. But, I just would like some input from you guys whether you think about the fact that at all the buttons on my express card remote work except the Windows Media Center button. Is it a software issue? If so is there a way I can just copy the files I need for it work from a HP Image of Vista Home Premium?

Nephipower: The broken WMC button sounds like a pisser... I'll bet you it's something that might not get resolved easily either. Sounds like something HP might have put in custom to their install :(

I just did a clean install of Vista on my dv2000t last night, and the WMC button on my remote works fine. I didn't have to install any drivers, either. So I don't think this is something that HP deliberately disabled. Beyond that, I'm sorry to say I have no idea why mine works and yours doesn't, though.
