Just downloaded, installed and is now using Dreamescene, the latest Windows Vista Ultimate extra. For those that don't know, this feature gives users of Vista Ultimate the ability to use a video file (encoded in .mpeg or .wmv) as their desktop background. Its a pretty cool feature. I used the video clip that I took of my son on the day of his birth. My digital camera uses .avi, but I had previously converted the file to .wmv. The background looks nice and my system resources are not affected as much. I noticed almost no increase in system Ram, and only a slight bump in processor resources. (and that's only when the Desktop is "showing" with no other windows maximized)
Does anyone know how to check your GPU resources if you have dedicated video memory, like I do? I would be interested in knowing how this affects your overall video (gaming, encoding...) performance...

You could do this in XP with several programs, It was never a major system hog, but it gets old fast.
