I installed vista business edition. I was previously running xp media edition, so I was unable to select the upgrade install method. My HD is 100gb. After booting up my computer in vista, it says that 37.3 GB are taken by C: and 11.7 by D. Is this average for vista? Or does it mean xp is still installed on my computer somewhere? How do I free up some hard drive space? :D

I am assuming that D is empty? If not, I cannot have any way of predicting how much space Vista took up!

Vista takes up around 15GB on average, I believe. AT least that's for Beta2/RC1 . Your 100GB drive should work just fine with Vista.

That sound about right. There was I think about 82GB after I installed Vista Business on my R60. It was a clean install.

I went to Office Depot yesterday, to check out what laptops they had there.
I played around with four different laptops that had Vista on them, and the Windows folders were all around 10GB.
But with clean install Vista should take about 7.5GB.

Thanks for the input :). I had to just clean up the xp install files and such. Gave me back about 20 gigs.
