Has any bought a HP laptop running windows vista prem with ether 1 GB mem and a NVIDIA card or 2GB and GMA 950?

I was planning to buy a HP laptop with a NVIDIA card but I can't seem to find one in any stores I go to. I don't have time to order it thru there site so I'm planning to but it on Presidents Day but I can't find a 15in with a NVIDIA card on it so I may have to buy one with 2 GB.

So my question is how well are the HP laptops with 2GB compared with 1 GB and dedicated Video. I have lots to ask here so I will break it down like this:

    1. Does the 2GB compensate for the lack of a video card or is it the same issue a before.

    2. How well does vista perform on ether configuration?

    3. How well does some game performs on ether configuration?

    4. Is there a performance improvement when burning a CD/DVD, Downloading music/video, or general stuff?

Please let me know about this, I'm planning to but the DV6265 but I may try to get the DV6275.

Well, to begin with, I have the DV2020US, wich is an AMD TL50 (1.6Gz) x2, and 2 Gb DDR2 RAM with the nVidia Go 6150 Graphics chip. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium With Aero turned on, and it runs great. Doesnt bog down when multi tasking, Dreamweaver 8, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Windows Media Player 11, and surfing the net @ the same time. Cant say much about gaming, because I don't, but I am happy with this set up.

My opinion, get the nVidia model, you'll love it.

Well, it depends on your usage. Generally, under Vista, an Intel GMA 950 with 2 GB system RAM will outperform a system with a low-to-mid end Nvidia card and 1 GB RAM. The exception, of course, is games, some of which won't run with the Intel graphics chip. If you game (or plan on dealing with HD video that can benefit from Nvidia's purevideo) then the Nvidia graphics chip makes much more sense, but it doesn't really effect your "normal" Vista experience at all. Either way, if you can afford it, I would definitely get 2 GB of system RAM on a high end system. That will positively effect your speed more than anything in Vista.

    Hope that helps.
