I have been trying to create the Vista Retail disc for 2 days now. I was following the links given in orev's clean vista installation guide. I downloaded the files from digitalriver. I have burnt them three times but have failed miserably all the three times. I would like to know if someone here has tried this method of making a Vista CD? If so has it worked for you. Are there alternate Links for downloading or there are errors with digitalriver's files?

Just in case anyone of you were thinking why I am being dumb to download such huge amounts of files let me tell you that Microsoft in India is indeed stupid. I have been all over the place and they have no idea about a Backup disc. What do I do?

I had to buy mine from the US, no one here in Australia knows about the "vista anytime upgrade disc". If you have any friends that have ANY sort vista disc(basic, premium, ultimate) any type of these disc would work too just tell them you have your own cdkey you just need it to do a clean install.

If you have a legit cd key, you can order a 64-bit upgrade version for free. you just have to pay for shipping. Thats only if you wanna go 64-bit.

Are you burning it as a data file or a image file? Make sure to burn it as a image/ISO format, otherwise it wont work.

Yes I burnt it as an image file using PowerISO first and then Alcohol120%. Did not work either of the time.
