Since installing SP1 on my HP Pavilion with Vista Home Premium, I have lost the sleep mode. Setting the power options to sleep does not work. The sleep option under Start-shutdown is even grayed out. Is there a way to turn the sleep mode on? Any help with solving this problem would be appreciated.

Check the control panel for the setting?

Maybe just do a clean install?

Reinstall the drivers for your chipset. Might work, who knows?

    :) Problem solved!
Under administrator on command line ran 'powercfg -h on' and received the following message:
there are one or more legacy drivers installed
    VgaSave
internal system component has disabled hibernation
Checked what VgaSave was, and it is a windows program that takes the place of your video driver if there is a problem.
Reinstalled the latest driver from Nvidia any Sleep is Back!!!!!!!
