Has HP posted any information on upgrading to Vista SP2? When Vista SP1 came out HP posted some good info including precautions to take and an FAQ about drivers etc. Now that Vista SP2 is available I was hoping to see something similar.

AFAIK, HP has not posted any specific information about Windows Vista Service Pack 2. The only place HP has mentioned Windows Vista SP2 thus far was in a BIOS update for the dv2 notebooks. :)

Service Pack 2 is not considered as a critical update, and HP may have chosen to not publish any information about it for this reason.

Just install it via Windows Update or from the Microsoft site itself man... no need for precautions or anything. :p

All the service pack is is a collection of the prior hotfixes and a few under the hood changes, if you're here reading, then you likely have already read reviews on the SP2 release, which states it is not a performance tweak by M$.

Besides, most of you should have installed Win 7 RC already and moved on to nirvana ... :)

I second the nirvana, or should I say, what Fista was supposed to be. But I am not a fan of any OS updating, unless it's a critical security hotfix. OS service packs are to be avoided. "Borrow" or "obtain" the updated install disc with the service pack built in and use your legit key to fresh install it. You have all the thrill of feeling like a pirate, you could even yell out a loud "aaaarrrrgggh!" , but in the end you are not doing anything wrong and you can go to sleep with a clean conscious. :)
