I guess not many ppl fully understand Vista then. I was just messing around with it then found the solustion. There is a new thing under user account called user account control. Turn that off then your computer will be just fine!
I started from a 3 min boot to 55second boot. I guess that thing just start scaning stuff when you computer turn on. Try it
and YES! I did it without reinstalling

Glad to hear it.
Many of us on this forum wipe the drive clean and start over. XP boots in seconds. I'll have to run some time tests now that you mention it. -
Please don't post multiple threads.

Posted this about a week ago, it also solves the problem of Vista hanging while trying to open large exe files.

How vulnerable to malware does the change make to the system?
I notice Windows Advisor won't run with the user Account Control disabled. Not that it is a big deal.
But UAC is a major part of windows security. Disabling it would seem to be an issue, or at least a question. -
Well, the very first thing I did when I got Vista was to disable UAC...lol...
I know it's a pain in the butt, just can't stand the constant black-out warning messages about creating a folder in "Program Files", installing a new program, deleting a system file, Allow...Cancel...Proceed...blah..blah..blah...
Anyway, by disabling it, well, I'm ok with it...as long as you have your good old SpyWare/Anti-Virus programs up running, you will be fine. -
UAC is a major part of Window's annoyingness. As far as I know, it does little to nothing to help system security that a good security. I've never once come across an instance of a program it catches actually being harmful.

Im hearing rumors MS is gonna add a hotfix to SP1 to make UAC a lot less invasive and user friendly, so people leave it on and use the Protection it offers.
This is gonna sound strange, but personally, i dont find UAC all that annoying. truly.

I think it will be much better if it will allow to configure or create a program safe-list so it won't ask permittion to run the softwares/programs that we normally use.
